Bluetooth

See nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices, keep selected devices in a stable list and get one alert when a signal disappears or returns.

Local network

See devices that announce Bonjour services on the current Wi-Fi or Ethernet network, including their services and last-seen time.

Meshtastic

Connect a compatible radio by USB to see mesh nodes and positions in Apple Maps, read messages and monitor a remote node around a chosen position.

Last seen

Mesh Guard stores observations, positions and messages on this Mac, so you can check where and when a selected device was last detected.

Bluetooth and local-network devices may disappear when they sleep, move out of radio range or change networks. A lost-signal alert reports what this Mac can currently detect; it does not prove that an item was moved.

Meshtastic support requires the separately installed PX7 Meshtastic Bridge. Its GPLv3 source archive includes build and installation instructions. Mesh Guard itself is closed-source and does not include or link the Meshtastic protocol implementation.

Mesh Guard is independent software compatible with Meshtastic. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Meshtastic project. This beta has been tested with a Seeed Studio SenseCAP Indicator D1L over USB and SenseCAP T1000-E trackers. Other compatible Meshtastic hardware may work but has not yet been verified by PX7 Digital.

What is PX7 Mesh Guard?

Does PX7 Mesh Guard upload my files?
No. A PX7 Utilities app connects only to the devices and destinations you choose, and what it observes stays on your Mac. It is not uploaded to PX7 Digital.
How much does PX7 Mesh Guard cost?
PX7 Mesh Guard is free. It has no subscription.

What kinds of devices can Mesh Guard see?
Mesh Guard works with compatible Meshtastic radios, Bluetooth Low Energy devices and Bonjour services on the Mac’s current local network.
Does Meshtastic support require a separate download?
Yes. Meshtastic USB support is provided by the separately installed GPLv3 PX7 Meshtastic Bridge. Bluetooth and local-network features do not require the bridge.
Does a lost signal mean a device was stolen or moved?
No. Sleep, radio conditions, distance and network changes can all make a device temporarily disappear. Mesh Guard reports observations rather than claiming what caused them.
Is Mesh Guard affiliated with Meshtastic?
No. Mesh Guard is independent software compatible with Meshtastic and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Meshtastic project.
